Tax Planning & Strategy
Proactive planning through the year, because by the time the return is being prepared, almost every lever has already been pulled.
Tax Services
Personal tax returns for business owners, investors and professionals whose situation stopped being simple a while ago.
Individual tax preparation is the preparation and filing of your personal federal income tax return, Form 1040, together with any state returns you are required to file. Florida residents file no state personal income tax return, but income earned in other states can still create a filing obligation there. Kingsley Accounting Group prepares individual returns for business owners and investors whose situations involve K-1s, rental property, equity compensation, multi-state income or significant investment activity, and reviews the prior year's return for missed items as part of every new engagement.
These are the situations that bring people to this service most often.
Every engagement covers the following as standard. Nothing here is an upsell.
A tailored document request and a secure portal. We tell you what we still need in one message, not seven.
We prepare the return and come back with real questions. Every return is reviewed before it reaches you.
We walk through the outcome, what drove it, and what you could change next year. Then we e-file.
Federal and state returns, e-file confirmations, and a summary page in plain English.
Anything the previous return missed, with the amount at stake.
What to pay, and when, for the coming year.
No. Florida does not impose a personal income tax, so there is no state individual return to file. You still file a federal Form 1040, and you may owe returns in other states where you earned income or maintained residency during the year.
You will generally file a part-year resident return in the state you left, covering income earned while you lived there, and no Florida return. Establishing Florida domicile properly matters because some states scrutinize departures closely, so keep evidence of the move and talk to us before, not after.
Form 1040 for the 2025 tax year is due April 15, 2026, extendable to October 15, 2026. Quarterly estimated payments for 2026 are due April 15, June 15, September 15, 2026 and January 15, 2027. An extension postpones filing, not payment.
Straightforward owner returns typically run $450 to $950. Returns with multiple K-1s, rental properties, equity compensation or several state filings run higher. You get a fixed quote after we see the prior year, before any work begins.
