We deal with the IRS so you do not have to: notices, examinations, back filings and payment arrangements, handled by someone who has done it before.
IRS representation means an authorized practitioner, such as a CPA, enrolled agent or attorney, communicates with the IRS on your behalf under a signed Form 2848 Power of Attorney, so notices, calls and document requests come to them rather than to you. It covers notice response, examination and audit representation, filing delinquent returns, negotiating installment agreements, and requesting penalty abatement. Kingsley Accounting Group handles federal and Florida Department of Revenue matters, and the first step is always the same: read the notice properly and confirm what the agency is actually asking for.
These are the situations that bring people to this service most often.
Every engagement covers the following as standard. Nothing here is an upsell.
We identify exactly what is being asserted, what the deadline is, and whether the agency is actually correct. Often it is not.
We file Form 2848, pull your transcripts, and the letters start coming to us. That alone changes how the situation feels.
We work the matter to conclusion, then fix whatever caused it, because a resolved notice with an unfixed cause simply returns.
A substantiated reply, submitted before the deadline, with proof of delivery.
What the IRS has on record for every open year, in plain English.
The realistic options, what each costs, and what we recommend.
Do not ignore it and do not pay it automatically. Note the notice number in the top right and the response deadline. A CP2000 in particular is a proposed change, not a bill, and it is frequently wrong, often because a cost basis was not reported. Send it to us before the deadline and we will tell you whether it is correct.
Often, yes. First-time abatement is available where you have a clean compliance history for the prior three years, and it is granted routinely: many people simply never ask. Reasonable cause relief covers illness, records loss, natural disaster and similar circumstances. Interest is rarely abated, but penalties frequently are.
This is more common and more fixable than people assume. The IRS generally requires the last six years to be filed to be considered compliant. We reconstruct records from transcripts and available documents, file in sequence, and then address the balance. Voluntary filing is treated very differently from being found.
Notice responses typically run $400 to $1,200. Audit representation and multi-year resolutions are quoted after we review the transcripts, because scope varies enormously. We will always tell you when a matter is simple enough that you do not need us.
